How to develop an Alliance between the Student and Virtual Classroom through LMS?

One of the major and the biggest challenges for teachers across the time has been to keep the students in the classroom focused, attentive and engaged and teachers have brought many unique ideas for this purpose over the years. However, today during the pandemic time i.e. COVID-19; to overcome the education crisis along with work and other crisis, schools and institutions have adopted many learning management softwares like ILMVERSITY to keep students engaged in learning process. But the main focus of the teachers is to develop and increase the interest of the students by adapting new methods in the virtual classrooms and ILMVERSITY is always there to assist these educational institutions in accomplishing their honorable aim of students’ growth in a contemporary environment.

Let us see the new ways to keep student involved in Virtual Classroom:

1. Preparation before Lecture

Teachers can create a list of the required things during the lecture and can share the list through LMS with both student and parents like books, stationary, etc. Teachers can also prepare their slides, audio test and screen clarity test etc.

2. Educate the students regarding LMS

Teachers can educate and update the students on daily basis before lecture regarding the use of LMS, its functions and the virtual classrooms. Teachers can also train the students about the mike, video and other tests that should made before starting the lecture.

3. Students should be rewarded through feedbacks

To engage the students better in the classroom and learning process, teachers can keep them motivated by giving them positive feedback, awarding points, positions and badges virtually.

4. Asking more and more questions from students

To keep the students more and more engaged in virtual classroom, the teacher should ask as many questions as possible as the questions allow the lesson to be more interactive and hence keeps the students engaged. In addition, a teacher can keep a count of the number of questions each student asks, to ensure that all the students are engaged and attentive.

5. Class should be short and lesson oriented

Students quiet often find it difficult to sit in front of screens for hours. Teachers by splitting content into smaller more manageable can help to keep students to stay engaged and feel enthusiastic about the virtual learning experience. This is also a good way to abate online learning fatigue.

6. Building a student-teacher bond

Some students do not find their teachers very engaging or are unable to relate with them. For such students, teachers can try building a relationship, getting to know them though a video or voice call outside of the classroom to help them feel motivated and active.
